Classic '60s DC cartoon. Blue Bolt battles Barry Allen (the greatest Flash) with Wally (Kid Flash). Full of the era's poor animation, but great orchestrated music! (below the video, look for a 'VIDEO RESPONSE' to my next '60s superhero cartoon! :-) ...

I loved the 1990 live-action Flash series... great scripts, production values, and especially music... also great FX for its time.

  • Ah cool. My gripe ...

Ah cool. My gripe is more with the CHOICE of music used. In the 60s, they used dramatic, driven music, befitting the more serious tone of the cartoons. By the 70s 'the idiot sidekick' theory was in and treating the viewer like a dumb child or worse, a moron, so the choices were not geared to the action, but more simpleton-istic and slapstick. It was a sad turn.

  • The music they used ...

The music they used in the '60s was also from production-music libraries (including the Gordon Zahler library). Such stock music was usually recorded with orchestras in foreign countries, so they would not have to pay royalties to the musicians' union. This was also the case with the Blais music (co-credited to "Jeff Michael" who was actually Norm Prescott).

  • No, these were all ...

No, these were all done in the 60s. The 70s junk was as you said, all repetitive. But the 60s stuff was all orchestrated, no synthesizer crud.

I remembered these episodes more for the music than anything else! Great stuff.
