Nastia is an awesome gymnast! I'm rooting for her to win gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the event finals coming up. I'm happy she won gold in the all around. She deserved it!

have to disagree, the double front tuck with the half twist looks great, not only is there no extra swing set up for it but the half twist gives it a neat little flourish at the end (although it's easier than a blind landing)

I think she should keep using her double layout as a dismount.Its much prettier. But other than that,it was a great routine.

Im an ice skater and a gymnist and i do like the shouting when i compete but alot of times its super distracting.
like ive had falls before cause of it.
and that ice..its not forgiving at all

Thank you for posting this! I wish Nastia might try the Okino dismount after the Olympics (it's too late now). It's worth a D just like the double front/half. And it's from a free hip rather than a giant swing. Betty Okino had a similar build and the dismount looked so elegant when she did it well. It's the Nadia dismount but layed-out.

Even now at my age-I DEFINITELY need my trainers and classmates (I'm in an officers academy) encouraging me whether it be in running, or shooting. Maybe Nastia doesn't mind. It's really her teammates who are the closest to her and I'm sure she might have said something long ago if it disturbed her.

I see both of your guys point, but i know that for some gymnasts (myself included) it really helps get them through the routine, espically durning a very long routine like nastia's bar routine.

I completely agree. I wish the little girls would shut up. They spoil the routines for me. Sometimes on floor they're annoying little voices are louder than the music! Ugh.
