Awesome Engines 540ci Blown Pro Magnum BBC Dyno Pull

A "rough idle" (which depends a lot on cam lobe separation) is not what I am describing. If you watch the video, at about 4:25 the engine surges so much it almost dies. Yes, I can slow my naturally aspirated race car engine way down, which makes it idle a little rougher, but it does not surge like that. Anyone else?

wrong ... it has to do with the amount of cam lobe overlap at low rpms ... it clears out at higher rpms because the valves are opening and closing much faster.

You can get a naturally aspirated motor to due the same thing ... so a supercharger, fuel injection, or the amount of overdrive on a blower has absolutely noting to do with the rough idle.

I'd kill to have that monster in my Camaro.

I know naturally aspirated racing engines quite well, but have zero experience with blown/injected engines. Can someone enlighten me as to exactly why these engines fluctuate so much when idling. I assume it has something to do with the mechanical injection, maybe?? Thanks.

i remember my dad wearing a t-shirt w/an iron on of a blown engine with that saying around it. on the back he had some shop iron on a comment that read "i choked linda lovelace". i always thought he was a complete jackass even though he drag raced.

There are some camshafts that don't work as well but you hear more of the rumble as in naturally aspirated engines. The blower rolling idle makes up for any cam rumble but lets everyone know your the man. This engine only has hat nozzles. We are changing it up to port and hat. It will sound twice as good and twice as responsive. The engine runs 7.30's @ 185mph in a door car right now. 2 years old and still getting it. It is truly an Awesome Engine. Only one place to get them.

Hmm Didn't Realize you could hear the "cam" over the blower. For the record, blower cams arent that "big"
