and adam was able to clone himself and made that tank thingy is because he was also a product of an experiment...his birth was delayed i think at aroung 13 days, that is why he was so smart at a cost though bcoz any mother who is forced to delay it birth would die after the delivery...and with that adam was able to come up with ways of making the delay of birth longer with the tanks, thus w/out killing anyone..sorta an artificial womb...that is why kyle does not have a belly button...

as said in the show...it is the same as with einstien..he was so smart bcoz his birth was delayed by weeks and that gave time for his brain to develop and be a genius...and kyle was "conceived" in the tank Adam built for about 16 years...thus a very high intelligent quotient...his brain activity is far greater than an average human...
