    Tell-tale sign of bed bug infestations before bites appear: Bed sheets will have small droplet-size bloodstains (red if it's fresh, brownish if the sheets have been washed since.) This is from people rolling over and squashing a bed bug fat with blood from a bite. Gross? Yes! But something to be wary about when staying in motels, hotels and hostels. They don't necessarily have to be seedy to house bed bugs.

    Spent a night at a seedy hotel once that had bed bugs. They got into my clothes, my luggage. I didn't even know I'd been bitten until a couple of days later, by that time I'd dragged them home with me. It was a disaster. It took about two weeks to clear them out of my studio.

    I thought I had bed bugs once, but I was allergic to some laundry detergent. Scared the hell out of me. Thing is-if you have bedbugs you can usually see them when you take your top sheet off, and I don't think they're terribly hard to get rid of.

    Why did I watch this before going to sleep? Oh god... why????
