lazer59882....... i see what you mean, because from these videos it doesnt look like it could have killed 200,000 people, but you need to think about the fact that these are from people who survived the tsunami, imagine what the vidoes would have been like of those who were killed? The waves were around 6meters in height in some areas, and this would have hit the people even on the top of the building. Also you need to take into account the spread of disease and lack of shelter in the aftermath.

Geologists have to go through the dilema of evacuation all the time. "Dante's Peak" is a movie about the struggles geologists have to go through. It's about a popular tourist town that is exposed to a possible volcanic eruption that is about to take place, according to geologists. The city officials disregard what the geologists have to say, because they believe property values will go down. the volcano does infact erupt and hundreds die. It's a good movie.

It's the irony of this world that innocent people have to suffer. It's bullshit. I can't believe people on this earth are so oblivious to these terrors in this world that innocent people have to go through, while they sit there in a safe enviornment away from the ring of fire or away from natural disaster zones and say "good thing i'm not there. lol losers". That's what makes the world the way it is. I'm sick of it.
