Although it's true that The Constitution is legitimately to be amended only by approval of 2/3 of Congress + 3/4 of the statesor a constitutional convention, the Supreme Court has given itself the power to amend it with their creative interpretations of the law. It's the concept of the "living" Constitution.

To take away guns, someone has to propose a new amendment to the Constitution, it has to pass the house, then the Senate, then 3'4ths of the States have to ratify it.
