This is how a standard lock looks inside, and how it works when you enter the key to unlock it. This is a test render for a lockpicking tutorial that I will make later, when I'v got some more time.

Hope you like it,

Used 3ds Max with VRay render, and AfterEffets for final editing.

    Thanks =)
    This might seem very simple and self explained to those who already know some about lockpicking, but for those who have a fresh start, this is, as you said, very important information.

    You have to know how the locks work, in order to really get the feeling of what you'r doing.

    About standard, raking, and bumping): I will be looking into reactor in max to see if I find a way to make the pins react while I insert picks. If not I have to do it manually as thisone.

    this ios an incredibly important video for anyone who has an interest in locks, lock construction and lockpicking. great video!

    i was looking all over for a cross sectional reference of standard locks tonight. if you could ever make one showing specifically how the raking technique works, that would kick ass, man.

    Thanks. :) It wasnt any big "update" to the previous, but it's rendered out in better quality, and its rotating the other way. Also, some effects have been added, as you see. I will try a remake of the whole thing, or make another lock later this week. I dont know when I will render it out though, but I'll post pictures at the forum ;)
