Hope you like my rendition of this song. I do it a bit slower than the original.
The song always impressed me how it spans decades of a life from a newborn baby to a 10 yr old boy, then adulthood, college and on to parenthood.

I think it is important to try to spend time with parents and visa versa. It is hard because we are all so darn busy making a living etc.

I dedicate this song to my Dad.

I will be performing Sept 27th, 2008, 7pm at the First Baptist Church of Aurora on 15th Avenue. It is a free concert. If there are any youtube listeners in the area i would love to meet you!

I really think the use of the capo was a great idea with this tune. Well done, as usual.

  • Yes, I still have ...

Yes, I still have Dad around and am fortunate to spend some time with him although it never seems enough/ I don't have any kids of my own but it has to be a strange feeling being away from them for any long periods of time. Life can be sad. But we do have to make the best out of it and savor every moment we can with our parents and kids.

  • Fantastically done! ...

Fantastically done! This songs has made me bawl on occassion thinking of my own Father and how days, months, years go by without talking to him. The story in this song is bittersweet. Makes me desparate to spend every nanosecond with my children and capture every moment. Sometimes I'll get panicky thinking I'm not getting it all in. Thanks, gjourney. I wish I lived near Aurora. I'd be there.
