The Sentai Series began back in 1975 starting with Shotaro Ishinomori's Himitsu Sentai Goranger. It lasted 3 years and then came JAKQ Dengekitai, another Sentai TV series. After that, in 1979, Sentai became Super Sentai when Battle Fever J came out. Due to its incredible success, the Super Sentai Series spawned other incarnations such as Denshi Sentai Denjiman, Chodenshi Bioman, Hikari Sentai Maskman, and Chojin Sentai Jetman.
Kagaku Sentai Dynaman was the first Sentai to be shown in American public, but it was only short lived and it was only a parody dub.

However, in 1993, Saban Entertainment decided to make an Americanization of 1992's Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger as the first Power Rangers series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. It wasn't as good as Zyuranger or any of its Sentai counterparts, but it was great. Power Rangers became so popular, that it spawned sequels using footage from other Sentai incarnations such as Ohranger, Carranger, and Megaranger.
