i think you forget that the recordings we hear are just one of the ideas out of those brilliant minds. this video reminds me that they have probably played thousands of solos that were worth capturing on a recording and listening to over and over again.

'trane sounds totally hypnotic on this. it's cool to hear different solos on this than the original. would've loved to have heard bill evans.

This would never of happened today because Health and Safety would have closed it down because of all the background smoking!!

That i'd like to see, but from what i have heard there's only audio outtakes from that album, you might want to check out the "Kind of blue anniversary edition" if you want to have everything you can get.
