I've always wondered. It's obvious that the kingdom (or at least all the people in the castle) know about mermaids, so how is it that when Morgana attacks that they can keep Melody in the dark for 12 years?

Its not 16 years later. When Melody has her birthday she's only 12 making Ariel around 28 or so.

I used to be obssessed with this movie. I would sing how ariel sung at the first part. lolz.

Actually, Ariel was 16 during the first Little Mermaid. She even said it herself during the scene with her father.

k in this movie melody is having her 12th birthday, and when the first movie ended ariel was 16 so tht would make ariel 28

I know! I love this movie!

Everybody ~ This picks up where the original left off. Ariel is about 17 or 18 and Eric is about 19 or 20. Then, for the remainder of the movie, they are are 29 and 30 or 31 and 33. It's Disney. Of course they wouldn't care about the Real time diffenece ( which is about 11 years from the original )

i love this part i still sing along with ariel when she vocalises she sounds so beautiful...i love this movie

A lot of disney's sequels really S**k , but this was a good one. I love the way they did the opening :)
