nah running on a straight line is dumb. bob and weave through the tree trunks so it can't catch speed, then just run around the trees in circles. Sorta like tag running around a car. lol

I heard that if a bear approaches you who is an english speaking bear, it's a good idea so blurt out foreign bits of language for exammple once a bear came up to me while camping and i used some italian stuff like, Heya you-a bear-a a bafongoola a tu madre.. no capeesh a notathing a you say mr a bear-a.. i kicka u azza u a capeesha? The bear waved his hand at me and just walked away. but for a second he did turn and say "you sell pizza" to which i said a no a. and that was that?

I kind of like this movie. And I'm glad I'm not messing around with bears.

I've heard of either animal tearing a carcass open if it's hungry. I wouldn't want to play dead in that situation.

Apparently from what I read Grizzlies that attack two people running from it tend to stop for hardly more then a second after catching the first before going after the second.
In every sense possible, it's better to just stand there, and either try to scare it away (for a Black Bear) or go into some variant of the fetal position (for a Grizzly) if the Bear actually attacks.
Running, like you said, is just stupid.
