  • do you still have ...

do you still have the Factory Image partition (usually in the D: partition on HP) on your computer?

Recovery Manager is in the SMINST folder in either the C:Program Files or C:Windows directories (on my computer it is Restore7.exe in the SMINST folder) but is inoperable anyway without the factory image. If you still have the factory image then it's likely you have rewritten the MBR by installing Windows 7. This will remove reference to the whole F11 process.

  • A word of warning ...

A word of warning about a feature available in F11 Recovery Manager -> Advanced Options -> Microsoft Startup Repair Tool, which is mentioned here. This tool needs to run in the partition that contains the operating system. However, the tool appears to runs BEFORE Windows has had a chance to boot back into the OS partition from the D: Partition and reports it can't find the OS. It then rewrites the MBR and from what I have seen removes the ability to boot back into Recovery Manager by using F11.

On my Laptop.. I don't have Recovery Manager..

Does anyone know where to get it?

I've recently installed Windows 7 and it has deleted EVERYTHING, well it hasn't. but ive partitioned my Hardrive.

And when I press F11 on my boot up screen so i can take my laptop back to factory settings, it doesn't let me.. it just boots up like normal.

Anyone know where to download this Recovery Manager?
