When John McCain appeared in the opening segment of Saturday Night Live last night with Tina Fey reprising her SNL role as Sarah Palin, I thought McCain ended up looking weak, ridiculous, and worst of all, like a loser as I show with the clips in this video.

You can see the entire November 1, 2008, Saturday Night Live skit from which I took a few short clips for my video on the NBC website at http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/mccain-qvc-open/805381/

  • I KNOW!!! I hate ...

I KNOW!!! I hate when SNL, reporters/ interveiwers make her look dumb! I mean, ive never had a conversation about world events with her before, but Everybody knows that TV makes you sound 20 IQ points dumber than you really are. Palin would be/ is just like Bush. She reads her lines, whether or not she understands them is irrelevant, shes produced epic fail after epic fail. Time in a seat means little when your governing a state half the size of the US with a pop of 700,000. That is a colony.

  • SNL portrayed Palin ...

SNL portrayed Palin as an idiot and that is not what she is. She is smart and full of wit. I don't think she'll have a chance in 2012, because people don't think that she is capable of being president because of experience, even though she has more experience than Barack Obama. At least a woman was on the Republican ticket for the first time ever. That is a major accomplishment in itself. It would be nice if she could become senator should Stevens be thrown out from the charges against him.

  • Thank you. McCain ...

Thank you. McCain had the potential to be ten times better a president than George Bush ever could have been and when Bill and Hillary and Joe Biden all praised him in separate interviews it was a testament to the man's character, but nevertheless this was Barack's year to win.

I think you might be biased yourself. It's a pot calling the kettle black. with no sense of humor.

Likewise, he had some great one liners at the dinner he and Obama were at a few weeks ago. I won't dispute McCain's service to the country as a soldier and politician, but I'm glad the election turned out the way it did.

I hope Palin is the nominee in 2012, it'll make re-election a breeze!

Not at all, I think it showed his openness to not be too offended by humor, I have more respect for him now, and give him props.

  • I do think the ...

I do think the video makes McCain look like a loser..but considering EVERYTHING that hapened, I don't think the skit would have much affect.. any positives or negatives. (I want to believe rational people don't vote base on comedy...)

  • Aww c'mon... Him ...

    Aww c'mon...

Him doing the skit was cool. It showed he had personality and was a good sport. Many of the people closer to him have always said he's got a good personality on him, and stuff like this proves it to me.

Don't take a moment where he decides to have a laugh, act human, and poke fun at himself and just use it as another reason to diss on him. If he can take a time-out from thinking politically (well, sort of. xP ), so can you.

You are thinking wayyyy too much into this video. And if a show, thats not even all that funny is the only way to sway the masses I realize why elitists hold the opinions they do.

  • I think McCain ...

I think McCain pretty much already knew he would lose. You just can't compete with Obama's popularity. And republicans don't get offended easily as Liberals do. Besides, it's snl. Don't take it so seriously.

  • I think that ...

I think that liberals are unable to have fun. When jokes are made of conservatives, conservatives can laugh. But when jokes are poked at liberals, (i.e. new yorker cover) liberals get their panties in a wad.
