DVD Duplication Process explained by Your Duplication Experts - CDROM2GO,
CD DVD duplication & DVD replication process in detail.

Duplication is the process of recording information onto blank discs, CD or DVD, often called burning. The duplication process is often referred to as burning because a laser is used to heat a chemical dye in the disc and literally "burn" marks that will be read as data.

At cdrom2go.com we use only the latest technology in duplication equipment. Large duplication towers that can burn many discs at once allow for speed and accuracy. Robotic duplicators will run unattended and are used to burn discs without the need for an operator to load and unload discs.

  • Standard discs are ...

Standard discs are not white; therefore any white areas need to be printed white. A knockout can also be used which is an area where no ink is applied; this lets the shiny area of the disc show through. The 5 inks used are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White.

  • Nonsense, large ...

Nonsense, large record labels do not duplicate CDs by burning CD-Rs, they press them.

CD burning etches pits and lands on a special dye coating with a laser. CD pressing first etches a master disc then physically presses this information into the plastic discs by injection moulding, kind of like high-tech jello moulding.
