Incorporation of Hot Stone massage in full-body stress management massage.
Incorporation of Hot Stone in treatments of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Lumbago, Lumbalgia, Sciatic Neuralgia, knee, elbow, ankle and shoulder disorders, rotator cuff syndrome and others is proven to be a very beneficial modality for rapid and sustained results. For centuries, it has been known that minerals, when accumulating heat, releasing very long waves of heat, and if applied to the human body, will stimulate significant healing process. As you know, any stones are minerals. On his file, Boris explains and demonstrates in details how to incorporate hot stone massage in the above mentioned treatments. The great news is that in any landscape store, for the maximum of spending about $5 you can purchase a huge set of stones of a variety of sizes (Boris on his DVD presents different sizes of stones and gives different recommendations). The stones can be heated in any hydrocollater or just if will be spilled boiling water on them, during 35-40 seconds they generate enough heat to be good hot mineral for a treatment.
To perform soft tissue mobilization by incorporating hot stone, not only contribute significantly to results but also makes the soft tissue mobilization procedure physically much easier to perform.
Dear morefish12.
No doubt that different kinds of stones carry different energy potential. I'm pretty certain that for purposes of stimulation by hot stones massage river stones as well others kinds are good enough. I mean all of them minerals and carry potential to release long waves of heat.
Best wishes.
Boris
is there a certain stone you should you use?
or will any smooth stone be good enough?
Dear KukoTheCure.
Just not to repeat myself I'll refer you to my Kuginame reply. to keep stones constantly hot you just can added boiling water or you can purchase hydracollider . in my opinion you shouldn't be concern that stones on back getting cold before you done with legs. they not so cold and still active minerals . in any case to use stones like static hot application only is not effective enough. you have to incorporate hot stone in soft tissue mobilization. Best wishes
Boris
Im massage therapist and I consider my self a good therapist :-) but hot stones its not my thing, I just cant keep the stones at right temperature ... my question is when you massage you use one stone then you replace it with another if gets cold before you done? And do you place the stones at same time while you done massaging and how long you keep them on? When i do full body massage stones i place on the back they get cold before im done with the legs.

you can heat the stones in any container using boiling water. usually 5 to 7 minutes enough for stones to generate heat. use a spoon to take stones out of container. careful touch with your hand. if temperature are tolerant you will perform stone massage. if stone will be to hot, for 1 minute or less hold it under cold water. on DVD# 11
during 2 hours I explaine and demonstrate how to perform stone massage as well how to prepare stones for massage.
Best wishes.Boris
Is there an easy house hold way to heat the stones? and what temp. should they be?
Thank you
Dear crizzo06.
I think you can use baby oil but not to use any oils for lubrication in cases of pre physical activities( playing sports, to perform some physical work ets) and of course in cases of allergy reaction.
Best wishes
Boris
would baby oil work ?
By crizzo06 [Affiliate User] 1205669493 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs a massage therapist, I keep various oils and lotions and creams on hand. They have different viscosities, which are used for a variety of reasons...deep tissue, people who have hairy areas. The heavier the viscosity, it helps to massage for a hairier person. Also, there are allergies to consider and so I always ask each client if they have any allergies to fruits, nuts, oils, essential oils, scents, etc. I would normally use light olive oil for a client with body hair or deep tissue cream.
