Me singing "zombie" by the cranberries.
[the song starts at 0:47 for those of you who don't want to listen to the instrumental at the start of the song]
a very popularly covered song, especially for so many live performances that i've seen :)
this is one of my older recordings from 2 or 3 years back..that was my morissette/cranberries phase..i was still trying to figure out my vocal individuality and all that :)
so apologies for the recording quality of this upload and the next..i wasn't all about perfection then..just feeling the song mattered hehe..
hope you like my rendition anyway..
- Nyx / Warsha

Song trivia and my two cents: [if it bores you, don't read it; i'm not putting a gun to your head ;) ]
The song was in reference to the conflict between Ireland and England, and the uprising in 1916..apart from reflecting the war and destruction of that period, it also strongly illustrates the horrors of war
- the violence, unnecessary bloodshed, children being swept in, children being taken away, loyal men sacrificing their lives, blind followers taking so many lives..turning into zombies?!
The zombies are also those nightmares that follow war survivors everywhere, every minute..constant echoes of what they have been part of at war front.
Is it really worth it? is it the only solution? these are the questions the song provokes and urges people to think about before impulsively and aggressively resorting to the extremes of..war.
Is peace too naive a concept? is war justified even after its purpose has been lost along with so many lives?

Feel free to add your thoughts as well.. :)
