2 things i can say about the new movie:
1) atleast Michael Bay isn't making it.
2) bring back (Shatner) Kirk

The jury's still out on whether or not Daniel Craig will be successful--I don't think audiences will warm to him; he'll end up like Timothy Dalton or George Lazenby.

Batman works with rotating actors because he's a hero who wears a mask. You'll notice that the attempt to fill Superman's shoes with a youthful-looking actor did not work.

And unlike all of the above, Kirk is not a fictional character who was successful in books before the screen. William Shatner is his primordial essence.

This will prob. not be the last Star Trek Film. Originaly Star Trek 6 was supposed to be a prequel but the exec's of Paramount wanted to do an original cast film for to cash in on the 30th Anniversary. This current film is almost exactly the same as the oringial story to be used for ST6. This could be the first film in a new series. Look at Batman Begins and Casino Royal, both re-started the film series for modern times.

This is awesome.

I'm saddened by Abrams' decision to write Shatner out of this "prequel". Kirk's death was never convincing, anyway.

I'm not sure, but it looks to me like the career of William Shatner will outlive the franchise of Star Trek motion pictures, because surely this next film will be the last on the big screen.

WHAT!! It was J.J. Abbrams, the guy who's making Star Trek 11? Ah Hell!! Why doesn't Paramount just sell their rights to Star Trek cuz they sure don't know wut to do with it.

Capt. Kirk is a true hero. He sees what is wrong and is determined to make it right, fears or regulations be damned. Thank you for putting this together.

Captain Kirk answered to only one man, The True Hero of Star Trek. This man had nothing to work with, and had to fight corporate cut throats from 1965 until he passed away.
