    no u dont have to, since the eniroment doesnt give much light on subject. u get same amount of light from flash with any shutter slower than the sync speed.

    Nope, too late, I am forever screwed up now. :D hehe

    It's strange, even though I always use center metering on my 5D so my subject is exposed the best I can I never thought of how that really effects the background. And now I see there is actually a much larger picture even deeper with the overall scene exposure. hmmm Well thanks anyways, the videos are put together nicely, and to the point. I can't stand the numerous verbose flicks you find usually.

    key shifting is more commonly known as "dragging the shutter". I'd say that 99% of photographers refer to it that way and not key shifting. :) I should have been more clear in the video.

    you use a higher f stop....so for instance if shooting with a 1/250th of a second at F/1.4 you can also shoot it at 1/15th of a second at f/5.6
