And no, those injections don't work. They last maybe a week. I've had de-rotational osteotomy's, injections, live on painkiller's, pins, screws, plates, and debridements. But think this may be the way to go. Can anyone help me?
By jessromym [Affiliate User] 1225846337 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have had 11 lots of surgery on my left hip since I was a baby, and now seein this, want them to preform this on me. I was born with congenital hip dysplacia, and nothing seems to work for. I'm seeing a surgeon in 3 weeks, so I might suggest this. Hopefully it won't hurt as much as a open hip debridement. That was BAD!!!!!

By TTBtoerag [Affiliate User] 1215989934 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHad my op on June 2nd 08. 7 weeks on and its fantastic. NO lower back pain, am able to sleep much better . The only pain i have is muscular from the op. Remember to keep doing your exercises and plenty of walking and swimming. Still cant put my sock on properly yet but hopefully that wont be too far away.
Anyone considering this op i fully recommend it. It will change your life.
My resurfacing was completed 5 weeks ago - and I'm glad that I didn't see this first! Having said that, it's changed my life. It's wonderful to be free of pain again.

There are 2 things that I am scared of and that is, 1, I have been in pain for 12 years now and have dont remember what it is like not to have pain and the speed that my left hip will move after surgery, I may not be able to keep up with myself..LMAO...
By TTBtoerag [Affiliate User] 1214858781 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAwesome! I'm having this surgery done in 2 days and this really helped me to see exactly what they will be doing to me! These surgeons and the engineers who design these things are incredible! Thanks!

The shots only worked for a month for me and then the pain came back. I scheduled a resurfacing surgery for myself and I'm getting it next week. Good luck and I will let you know the results of my surgery, can't wait, the waiting list has been long.

The pain that you will have is from the operation itself and the trauma to the tissue around the hip. They keep you pretty stoned for the first few days and after that it feels better every day. Just remember to do your physio EVERY day and you will get better sooner!

By 2TwoOne1 [Affiliate User] 1212117009 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have had them both done, this procedure has given me a new life, no pain in the joint at all, some serious physio to do after, but hey you can do it! Would not hesitate, go for it, you will be a new person!
By theoldbigguy [Affiliate User] 1205265902 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI was contemplating resurfacing, I cannot help but feel nervous about this surgery but when I weigh up the pain that I have had for 12yrs and ongoing daily this is looking very likely. At present I recieve 4 injections into the hip per year but not yet getting much relief apart fom the 4 hours after the injection. Should I carry on getting injections or is it time for surgery?
