  • And no, those ...

And no, those injections don't work. They last maybe a week. I've had de-rotational osteotomy's, injections, live on painkiller's, pins, screws, plates, and debridements. But think this may be the way to go. Can anyone help me?

  • I have had 11 lots ...

I have had 11 lots of surgery on my left hip since I was a baby, and now seein this, want them to preform this on me. I was born with congenital hip dysplacia, and nothing seems to work for. I'm seeing a surgeon in 3 weeks, so I might suggest this. Hopefully it won't hurt as much as a open hip debridement. That was BAD!!!!!

Remember to keep doing your exercises and plenty of walking and swimming. Still cant put my sock on properly yet but hopefully that wont be too far away.
Anyone considering this op i fully recommend it. It will change your life.

  • no the injections ...

no the injections would make it worse because you'll get immune to the steroids slowly. The shots only worked for a month for me and then the pain came back. I scheduled a resurfacing surgery for myself and I'm getting it next week. Good luck and I will let you know the results of my surgery, can't wait, the waiting list has been long.

  • It is certainly not ...

It is certainly not something you would do for fun, but your hip joint itself does not hurt anymore at all. The pain that you will have is from the operation itself and the trauma to the tissue around the hip. They keep you pretty stoned for the first few days and after that it feels better every day. Just remember to do your physio EVERY day and you will get better sooner!

  • I was contemplating ...

I was contemplating resurfacing, I cannot help but feel nervous about this surgery but when I weigh up the pain that I have had for 12yrs and ongoing daily this is looking very likely. At present I recieve 4 injections into the hip per year but not yet getting much relief apart fom the 4 hours after the injection. Should I carry on getting injections or is it time for surgery?
