Tell me about the "making sure the doors are locked" thing. I wonder if OCD could be a defense mechanism. If maybe certain bad things happened in that person's past, and then they developed rituals to try to feel like they had some control over what bad things happened to them and which didn't.

I have not told anyone yet and i still can not find the gut to tell them. I have this feeling that its gonna become a real big deal and everyone in my family is gonna find out and laugh about it.
