This is late 1970s-early 1980s car wash technology at its... strangest?? These machines used to be EVERYWHERE throughout the Miami area. Many were later replaced with Laserwash 4000, Ryko Voyager, Ryko Softgloss, or some really obscure brand machines (ever heard of Turbo-Brush or Slant Systems? PLEASE, someone must be.. I can't have just IMAGINED those...?)

Yes, those top rear side brushes do nothing on a car of this shape and size. On some larger cars with windows closer to vertical, they provide a streaky sort of wash coverage.

The foam bath really helps this machine's cleaning action. I think this machine is using Ryko Action Shine, which is a STRONG yet gentle detergent! Dilution ratio to achieve a good foam bath is in the range of 200:1...!

Many R7B's just washed with water, or a really dilute soap.

As an added bonus, this machine neatly pinwheel-brushed some creepy guy in the face when he proceeded to walk into the bay and try to knock on my car's window. He was continually harassing me while I was there, offering his detailing service. Yeah, way to creep out a potential customer, dude. FILAMENT TO THE FACE!! I chose not to give him the pleasure of showing up on the video; he was off on the right side around where the machine first spins up the side brushes. Yes, it does start in the middle; all R7B's do that. It also runs the side brushes while waxing.
