By toptop90 [Affiliate User] 1194355051 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetop martial arts for REAL fight (in no particular order):
MMA (including wrestling, brazilian jujustu)
Muay Thai (and other forms of south east asian kickboxing..ie lethwei, pradal serey etc)
Boxing
JKD
the reason most tradtional martial arts dont work is because A) they are overcomplicated, and B) both the students and those teaching them have no real fight experience. these arts may have worked 100 years ago when fighting was a common occurance. but when the sensei has never had a solid hit in the face before what can he teach?? its all just dancing.
By kissmyskinnywhiteass [Affiliate User] 1194306745 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removegay gay gay gay, aikido and seagal are F*gs .they say it works better for multiple attackers...multiple attackers never try and hold your wrist..id never seen someone try and hold a wrist in a fight. multiple attackers will punch and kick you senseless all that the same time.
By kissmyskinnywhiteass [Affiliate User] 1194306705 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAikido is sounding interesting to me too.
I'm 19 and I'm also strongly considering start practicing it.
Good luck aceofspades70 !
If you get to a 2 dan aikido you can really F**k anyone up. But once you reach a 1 dan in aikido you are trained to not hurt anyone and try your very best to just get around hurting someone. Aikido does work and I wish people on this site who no not what they say would shut up.
By stevienightheat1 [Affiliate User] 1194188237 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI enjoy these types of videos, and any martial arts is for someone who first, has some discipline. It's not a joke, it's the real deal. The last time I took classes I was 7. I am strongly considering going back to it at 37. I don't think it's ever too late.
By aceofspades70 [Affiliate User] 1194034627 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI found one, check out "Kajukembo Live Demo." Nice striking work, but still I have the same question. Striking, while is effective; against multiple attackers seems less effective. It takes so much energy to throw a strike, let alone a bunch of them. Not to mention while you are striking, most of the time you stay in the same spot, giving other attackers a chance to come up to you from behind. Just my opinion, would like to hear your thoughts.
By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193832891 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYoutube should have a few Kajukenbo videos of multiple person sparring (There should be one with a kid purple belt sparring with three other kids). They might be down though. I'll look again sometime.
By HolyBarnacles [Affiliate User] 1193823708 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDon't know much about Kajukenbo or Vee Arnis Jitsu. Just googled and utubed Kajukenbo. I like the combination of joint manipulation w/ strikes. Though I could not find any training videos with multiple attackers. Let me know if you find ANY videos with arts that have multiple attackers. Just curious to see how other arts deal with that.
By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193817587 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNot throwing, but many arts do multiple person attack strings such as Kajukenbo, Vee Arnis Jitsu, and JKD (Conceptual or not).
By HolyBarnacles [Affiliate User] 1193756973 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFirst and foremost all martial arts teach respect which , obviously, very few of you have...you don't go attacking others peoples beliefs. All martial arts have been developing for decades if not centuries. Are any of you truly so arrogant that you think that you're more experienced or better then any of the creators of any martial arts, when you've been practicing your discipline for a few years. Half the people criticizing martial arts aren't even practitioners

By Johnf85 [Affiliate User] 1193229764 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOne of the strengths of Aikido is the way they deal with multiple attackers. I don't see any other art address those concerns, the way aiki does.
By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193212348 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes pretty much. Can't remember the last time I was in a one on one fight. Or even saw one. I wish it was like that, but it is not. A t least in my neck of the woods. I don't agree with boxing either in a multiple attacker fight. Just my opinion. Too many things can go wrong. Hurt your hand for one, and the amount of energy it takes to constantly throw blows at multiple opponents.
By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193212324 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMatt hughes is a roided out thug. In my opinion UFC has evolved into a GREAT sport. Not the "test you MA skills" event that it use to be. Now, its all Hollywood.
By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193212077 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeso now every fight youll ever get into will be a gang fight? ground fighting is not geared for points. i have destroyed plenty of people on the street by choking them or snaping their arms wiht an arm bar. points?? if its a gang fight then you use boxing. there is more evidence leaning towards what im saying cuz i have looked endlessly and found no fight videos where akido was succesful
By Johnf85 [Affiliate User] 1193211697 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe ufc now has evolved into the form of perfect combat. people learned how to incorporate everything, so that eventually matt hughes beats the great royce gracie who beat all the "real" martial artists in the beginning. most martial arts isnt get your hands dirty fighting its grab my wrist nonsense.

By aikidoka00 [Affiliate User] 1193206575 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou forget, Bruce Lee came to that realization after a LIFETIME OF TRAINING. Now a days ppl think they can take the quick road to being a MA. That is y you see terrible techinque in the UFC now. When it started, they used real MA. Now they use a bunch of no talent roided up thugs. And it shows in their technique.
