I agree. Everyone seems to believe that Obama will somehow magically make the Arab world love America again. Change the man and you'll change the perception. It isn't going to happen though. You compare Japan 5 years after war's end (1950) and Iraq at the same equivalent time (2008). As the 50's dawned Japan was set to begin an unprecedented economic miracle (whilst under US occupation). So what is the difference between Japan then and Iraq now? Bush? American Imperialistic greed? No - ISLAM.

The Nerve of that Reporter! Does anyone believe that five years ago would he have had the balls to throw a shoe at Saddam Hussein? Was Iraq a better place with Saddam in charge and Uday and Qusay's R**e and torture rooms? The blood of our military brought the first chance of a free and peaceful Iraq. The ungrateful bastard hit our flag with his second shoe and that pisses me off more than anything. That reporter is an ungrateful coward.
