Anyone needing proof of Wendi Richter's enormous popularity in the mid-1980s should look no further than this match. With her constant interference outside the ring, the Fabulous Moolah has the crowd whipped into a frenzy; and when Richter rallies for the win, the fans go nuts. This match aired in October 1985, so it may well have been Richter's final television appearance for the WWF before being stripped of the title the following month.
