They are mostly considered high caste, mostly landlords... but its not true for all areas of Punjab...and also they are not the only landlord caste...

I'm very familiar with Jatt *Sikhs*, and they are extremely very good people. They are loyal, simple, straight-forwards, TALL, rugged, and they are upfront of everything. I was surprised that there are Jatts found in Pakistan, and many have identical surnames (such as "Dhillon" and "Gill"). Moreover, they both have songs about Jatt greatness, et al.
