I half disagree, I think the film is good on a purely emotional level, the Paris riots are a background of the plot to take place.

And yes, while the softcore porn element is a bit much knowing the director's over 60, if you watch it at a purely viseral level, it's a good film.

But I just cannot abide by Ken Loach. He's political, but he's useless. He points out problems without giving any hope of solution.
