    Yeah stock the truck 454s werent high hp motors but made tons of torque. My buddy rebuilt his 454 in his 79 K10 mud truck and that thing pushes 540hp and 560ft/lbs easy. Its sick, they are great motors when set up right and can provide great power. I want to build on for my truck after driving his and having all that torque just a push of the foot away would b nice

    The 454s they put in the 1970 Chevelle put out 450 hp.. nothing to shake a stick at in those years (plus the fact that it was underrated at 450)... I built a 454 in my '71 C-10 pickup that is about 515hp and 505 ft-lbs (i've tuned it a bit more since the dyno, so I think it "might" be better) all Naturally Aspirated too.... it's a fun motor to work with.

    I agree. They should have ran from a dig at least once even though it would have been to the Z28's advantage...... looks like the 300Z had the better runs here from a roll.
