  • first of all hifolk ...

first of all hifolk while music theory still exists in all forms of music the blues aint about being spot on with everything you end up writing and/or playing and it relies heavily on feeling it's not about composing its about taking your inner self and reflecting it on the neck and I believe Mr. Stauffer does an excellent job and is a hell of a guitarist as well as a student of the intrument he plays and music he plays

"i cant read sheet music, and if i hear a song i have to ask someone what key its in; but not knowing you cant do something is a really liberating feeling, if that makes any sense."

    - SRV

i think this guys lessons are great, they help players with less experience "see" the fretboard the way people with more experience do. these "boxes" are an intelligent way to go about the entire point of playing guitar; having fun.

  • I OFFERED an ...

I OFFERED an extensive explanation for how this lesson could easily mislead a novice player from understanding the basic music theory that the players you listed understand.

He IS trying to help people, but by mimicing the style of an advanced player without communicating the concepts Stevie is actually using, he is not teaching them. By accurately explaining the theory, students skills would exponentially increase

Music theory is the secret to making good music and gr8bluesguitar

  • Man, I'd hate to be ...

Man, I'd hate to be one of those wannabe guitarists who learned wrong ie; Hendrix, SRV, Albert King, Robert Johnson, Doyle Bramhall, KWS...etc. Let's see one of your lessons? Mr "Stevie Snacks" is putting it out there in an effort to help people try to improve. Inevitably along comes some guy like you who offers nothing & critiques everything. In the film industry we refer to you guys simply, and pitifully, as "failed artists". just a hater pontificating. Viva Mr. Stevie Snack and
    .!.. you.
