Mothers and sons CAN have such a special bond. Being a mother of two sons makes me just so sad listening to this song. When one of the two does not exists anymore, preferably the parent. How does the child find closure? Even though my father and us kids weren't close, still when he no longer existed it hurt so... How unimaginably sad and devastating it must then be when they had loved each other so very much. Oh poor sweet Engelbert!

MYTOKAR, I don't even know why I want to thank you for posting this absolutely amazing video. I listen to it and sing along at least 20 times a day. Each time the lyrics and Engelbert's fabulous voice and rendition, rip a piece out of my heart. So from the bottom of a "heartless" girl thank you anyway. In spite of the fact that I own an extensive amount of Engelbert's music I have only a couple of days ago discovered this song. He continues to amaze me not only with his ability to select such special songs but how he employs his given gift to make them his own.
