"Sway" is the English version of "Quién Será", a 1953 Latin pop song with a mambo beat written by Mexican composer and bandleader Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. In 1954 the English lyrics were written by Norman Gimbel and recorded by Dean Martin (this recording reached number fifteen on the Billboard magazine best-seller chart[1] and number six on the UK chart). Since then the song has been recorded and remixed by many artists.

The original song was called "Quien sera", performed in Spanish in 1953 by the great Nelson Pinedo from La Sonora Matancera. The composer was Pablo Beltran Ruiz, one year later, in 1954, Norman Gimbel wrote this song in English and Dean Martin performed it.
