How to Change and Restore Shell32.dll Icons

i really appreciate that comment, when i replaced my shell32.dll file, with replacer, it said to reboot. i did. i couldnt boot up and i had to reinstall windows losing everything. so kudos to you.

search google for windows 98 shell32.dll

any ideas on how to get the windows 98 icons?

Hey Thanks, yeah i i did uninstall it correctly, but i haddnt done something before i did it.. (needed to change the theme bak to vista) so i reinstalled Alienwear and and changed it back to vista, and now it's running again..

It could be that it changed some of the other icons hidden inside .dll files if you can find them then just google for the origional .dll and you should be able to find it. If not you will have to restore your computer to before you installed the theme changer. I have tried the alienware theme changer though and it removed all the modified icons. Are you sure you un-installed it properly?

Hey mate, great tut'.. but i am still having a massive problem, (i thnk you may not be able to help me on this eiher..) well anyway, i have previously installed the "Alienware theme changer" (don't rember the name) and it changed my Icons, and all. and just a couple of months later i uninstalled it and it has messed around all my icons and stuff, i have looked all over the web to try and find a solution to this..i am wondering if you would know any way to fix this?

hmmm... try replacing the .dll file again if this doesnt work restore your computer to the point before you first tried to restore the icons

this is odd because when I go to my documents and go to like my vids or my pics it crashes and says send report and has that in it shell32.dll I dont get it bro odd it lets me view my files after ive restarted it agen ive rebooted my pc 7 times does the same thing over and over XD

hmm thats strange is this after you have replaced the file or does it always happen?
