This is a great abdominal exercise to put into the core workout part of your training. You'll also see it a lot when the yoga folks want to carve in their six pack.

    You can always use a pad under you but if you have any butt at all from doing leg work it wont be a problem.

    thanks for the vid. In P90X we do these during Ab Ripper X. However, we bring our hands to our toes then lower back down and for rep two we add the leg raise and keep doing that for 25 reps. Each time we move it is one rep and then we move on to the rest of the ab workout. THis is my favorite ab exercise.

    Awesome. You can also go slow-mo and try to put one vertebrae at a time onto the floor during the eccentric and lift only one at a time during the concentric. You can't isolate the lower abs but you'll really feel enhanced activation with this method over the fast version. I like the fast one though for athletic orientated stuff.
