The fifth and final part of mine and my stepdad's trip to Montana and Wyoming in June 2009. Part five features the West Thumb Geyser Basin, all the footage from my stepdad's baby elk rescue incident, up close buffalo near the mud volcano, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and twilight footage of the Tetons.

  • What where you thinking?

I cannot believe what I just watched in the elk "rescue". You needed to let nature take it's course, that is what the park rangers would have done. I don't know if the calf lived or not, but I bet is was so badly burned, it's life wasn't worth living. The signs CLEARLY say "stay on the walk, do not get off walk", etc. I know my heart would have wanted to help the poor thing, but there are rules just for that reason. Please read and obey.

  • Not that you ...

Not that you deserve a reply, but my stepdad is an Air Force veteran. Why don't you serve your country for a quarter century and then you can tell someone how to take care of it.

  • You are an upmost ...

You are an upmost dumb idiot. First off you should be fined for the act you were involved with. It is illegal to get off the board walk. It is a federal crime by the way. Stepping off the board walk is extremely dangerous, even it it looks safe. That elk should of and could have very easily kicked your ass. You have in all ways DISRESPECTED the park, mother nature and wildlife. Stay in your city since you dont know anybetter.

After about 20 or 30 minutes it got up and walked away with its mom. We hoped it survived but it was weak.
