    Yes it does. You can read warnings of this on the web. I bought one of these kits before I read about this and regret the purchase. The knurled drive roller works fine except for the fact that it is a tire grinder. Don't waste your money on this option. Try chain drive, maybe.

    not really, you can get up to 2000 miles out of your tire depending on what type of tire you go with. I usually change mine about every 1000 miles or so
