barefootBASE - How to stop indeed. First, one has to know that the vertical speed is approaching zero as the dive flares out into a glide. Then one has to know how fast the horizontal glide is, and then the big question, how to slow down on the water surface. A tumble at high speeds on the water is out, so I imagine some sort of ski-contraption on the foot to allow a slide across the water.

I've seen the JETMAN. He has a lot of horsepower attached to his rig, and the speeds are too high for this purpose. I don't think he's that close to pulling off a wing-suit landing on the water.

I don't know if it is possible , Jeb talks about wanting to do it , the mountain gliding you mention looks more likely than water but how to stop? into a big air bag? fly into a vertical wind tunnel?

The most amazing thing is the JETMAN , seen him on here? he would be closest to doing it , it is on his to do list too , he can actually level out and rise , huge speed though .

few years ago baumgartner(crazy austrian) has to pass the way to the top of the petronas twins with a black suite to do his jump!i think it was forbidden this time!
now it seems F**king popular maybe tourist could jump for a few dollars.

For anybody else contemplating the question, it's only a matter of time. Twenty years ago would anybody have believed ski/glide decents down the north-face of the Eiger, or 100 mph body-suit glides 10 feet above the ground? It's only a matter of time until somebody pulls-off a wing-suit landing on water
