How to connect two or more Cisco routers together in back-to-back configuration using crossover cable options.

Connecting two or more Cisco routers together in a back to back configuration for a Cisco CCIE lab or demonstration environment is made easier by using Cisco crossover cables. These cables enable a user to cennect two routers that have WAN Interface Cards (or WIC) installed to create a router to router connection. The user may have either Cisco WIC-1T, WIC-2T, NM-4A/S, or NM-8A/S modules. Connecting the modules together in DTE to DCE configuration is made possible by using our serial and smart serial cable options. Older style serial (WIC-1T type) and newer style smart serial (WIC-2T type) can be used. Clocking is determined by the ends of the cable being wired as either DTE or DCE.
