  • Difficulty remains ...

Difficulty remains in U.S. economic growth based on the interest of foreign resources. This is not about oil, I'm saying that unless the U.S. can invest in and govern technology and growth in less developed countries, according to the capitalist worldview, any foreign influence is considered a threat to the stability of the U.S. grasp on the world economy. However, as an American, I can only agree with Putin that one economic model cannot govern the world, as resources will always remain scarce.

  • Very deep thoughts ...

Very deep thoughts and intelligent speech! I liked it. All other leaders (especially, American) should listen closely to what Putin has to say. I really mean it!
Tired of all these bullshit of Bush's spreading the word of democracy to the world that CNN used portray for Americans. It's all B-u-l-l-S**t (with capital "B")!

  • What do you mean by ...

What do you mean by 'Chechnya going on'. What's going on? Chechnya is part of Russia and it was a domestic issue, not international, the more so that antiterrorist operation is history. What is shrouded in secrecy? I believe you speak out of ignorance. Come and visit Russian internet sites and you'll see all kinds of opinions - from pro-Punin to ones of those who are in tough opposition. I don't believe it makes any sense to measure Russia of 2008 by standards of long gone time

Great speech, but he usually sais one thing and does another. Hope the next president will be milder and more respectful to the int. law as he is a lawyer.

After all, you should also consider his death as a "weapon" of British or American intelligence agencies. Consider that they got all the information that Litvinenko knew. And since he became unnecessary they might have killed him in order to blaim Kremlin in his death. This sounds horrible and unbelievable since people of West tend to think they are human rights saviors, but the truth is in Guantanomo, American-Iraqi prisons, East European secret prisons and never-ending tortures!

  • When Kasparov was ...

When Kasparov was arrested, he started speaking in English to journalists? Why whould a person who loves his country and his language, a person who wants to be a president of that country speak in foreign language? To show that he is fluent in it? NO. Kasparov is a populist who tries to gain support of western "friends", he is a man of the West. Litvinenko is a traitor, and his death should be a lesson to everyone who sells his own country. After all, you should also consider his another side of

  • Politikovskaya not ...

Politikovskaya not only pointed fingers at Kremlin, but stepped on toes of organised crime in Saint Petersburg. What is kasparov is even doing in russia, he should go back to baku and push his politics there.

  • Putin meant ...

Putin meant international relations. Iraq is a sovereign country. Chechnya is a part of Russia and a country has the right to resist its dissolvement.

  • He speaks of how ...

He speaks of how you can't have armed conflict without a UN resolution...why then did he initially support the War in Iraq? Furthermore, why is Chechnya going on? If he really means what he says about openness being necessary, why is everything in Russia shrouded in secrecy? Why does everyone who speaks out against Putin's actions end up killed or jailed (Kasparov, Khodorkovsky, Politikovskaya, Litvinenko...you can look for more dead Russian journalists on Wikipedia)?

During his speech he addresses the public, and when their faces are shown you can see some of them look embarrassed. They know that he says the truth!
