Spirit of Malta (overview of the Island)

Here are a few facts to clear up about malta according to the world census.
• the maltese language is 70% Arabic, 20% Italian, and 10% English.
Here’s a funny story. My maltese aunt went to mcdonalds and spoke amltese with her husband, and the Arabic cashier understood everything she said but he spoke Arabic. That’s how really really close maltese is to Arabic. I don’t even use the term maltese anymore. I just say arabicitalian because it makes more sense.
• Also the maltese language is endangered just like the irish language. Linguists believe it will be taken over by English because so many maltese are learning English and not maltese anymore.
• Lastly, I’ve been to malta and it’s pretty but could be much better. Theres a lot of trash and garbage everywhere because of overpopulation, and people aren’t goo with education and technology in malta. Malta doesn’t even have a history or background to show off. It is basically a copy of other nations and cultures. Overall, malta is one of those places that will die off one day.

i think the same as you.malta could be a paradise, but the main problem there is the people.....they need a little bit more of education....it could be a great touristic place, but first the have to start behaving better with foreigners.....and let other people think different

not 60% is arabic..like 35% of the words and we share the words they are arabic..and not all the italian words are romantic fool!!!!

it's a dialect that comes from arabic, in fact maltese is 60% arabic and 40% romantic, that means that the romantic part mainly comes from italian (especially from the sicilian dialect) and there are some words from french and english.

I am leaving the island on Saturday and heading back to South Africa. This was an amazing 4 months of my life and I am really going to miss this stunning place. Hey ya! ;)

Both are engraved on marble in the facade of the Presidential Palace in Valletta the capital of Malta which was built by the Knights of St John of Jerusalem, and Rhodes and Malta. A city from gentilment to gentilmen.

Malta is full member of the European Union and we are proud to be Maltese. Malta saved Europe in the Great Siege of 1565 from the Turks and also saved the Europe in the Second World War.

You know what? We are known for our love and frienship to everyone who visits us. We are also mentioned in the Bible in the Acts of the Appostles when St Paul was shipwrecked here.

You do not have to be ugly. I am Maltese and I love Malta but I live in America and it is also a beautiful place. Don't give us Maltese a bad name by your foul mouth.

i am Maltese and went there a few years ago. I miss it everyday. I am always traveling and have never been to a place i love more than Malta. I love it there it is like my home. The people there are amazing. If you ever have a chance you have to go their.
