any one who thinks that all john mayer plays is stuff like say, needs to turn off the radio and find some of his albums. Sure he does play alot of pop type music like say and daughters and what not, but if you check out his "try" album...you will be like holy hell-this guy is absolutely phenomenal!

Sure he's not as good as Clapton because Clapton has icon and legend status. But who knows, maybe when Mayer is his age, he will have the same status.

like i said, didnt write that. my friend did. Mayer is not a bad player, but from what i have heard from him, im not really into his music. i dont mean to disrespect or anything but if you listen to something like "say" or something, its kinda sissy.clapton has more energy in his songs like cocaine and layla.Mayer is a good player without a doubt but honestly in my opininon, his stuff sounds like it should be on like chick flicks or something.
