Handcuff Picking 101

Yeah, perhaps "bonus" isn't quite the best word choice. As for 1984 or Judge Dredd actually happening, I also find it kind of difficult to believe that they would, at least to the full extent that they do in the book/comics. Then again, look at how much England seems to love hundreds of security cameras running day and night in it's larger cites. I wouldn't want to live in that kind of environment, personally.

My point is also kind of hard to explain. Basically, I'm just trying to say that the ego check thing *is* a bonus to society because it helps to keep the cops from thinking that they're infallible and always morally superior. Because if the cops think that, then they will start to behave accordingly, and we could end up in a kind of 1984/Judge Dredd situation, which I don't think anyone wants.
