By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200611169 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOh, for sure I'm against "Divide and Conquer" the imperialist have done it all over Africa...I don't have enough knowledge regarding the peoples of the original persia and where they all are now, etc. So I can't speak on that.
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200609909 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe should not let others to use "divide and conquer" strategy, to localize this great language, to reduce its importance. Persian should be used as an umbrella for all the nations who speak this great language (no problem, with different dialects, histories, cultures). We should think strategically in this world. Rejectionist attitude is not always a good approach.
By aryana2008 [Affiliate User] 1200609476 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe can surely recognize the differences, history, culture, dialects and etc, but we do not need to do this by giving different name to the same language family. Why Arabic, Spanish and English are considered the same even they are spoken in so many countries despite of so many differences in history, culture, dialect and etc. among them? We need to think statistically if we want this language to be taken seriously (and why not, to be one of the official language of the UN one day).
By aryana2008 [Affiliate User] 1200609163 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeby the way, I love your name...Didn't know it was a real name until later in college, but I made up a name for my doll as a kid, and I named her Ariana, I always said I was gonna name my daughter Ariana...masha'allah.
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200608667 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI see what you're saying, that totally makes sense...however, at the same time, until the peoples who speak the different dialects of Farsi get together and state it, then they should do so, but personally, I think the dialects seperate has more historical value and meaning, also, reading comments from other videos, many Farsi speakers can't understand Dari at all...I don't know.
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200608570 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt is not only an opinion; it is a serious damage to a language. The importance of language will be lost. It will become localized. For instance, Arabic is considered important because it is spoken in so many different countries. If every each has different name, I am not sure if it could be considered that important and be one of the UN official languages.
By aryana2008 [Affiliate User] 1200604968 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveExactly, Arabic has so many dialects and we still call it Arabic (in English), so why we should use different names for the same language (Persian) with different dialect spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and many other countries?
To just give the impression that they are different languages where in reality, they are the same?!!! What is the benefit of doing so?
This is the closest thing you've said to proving your point, however I'm still for preserving originality, and keeping as correct as possible. If there is any distinction, and the people speaking the distinctively differently language as a whole have decided to call it Dari, instead of Farsi, then so be it...It's not a mistake, it's a difference of opinion based on accuracy...?
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200604570 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe world over knows that Arabic has many dialects, as many languages do, so that makes it more so important to be exact when you can. If I tell someone I know some Arabic, I instead tell them I know some Egyptian dialect of Arabic...so if I say Wahasteeni, to someone from Al Maghrib, then they know it is Egyptian Arabic, and if I know how they would say I miss you, then I'm gonna say it correctly ...but this is so far from the subject of Proper Titles...
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200604342 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI am afraid you can not even read and understand properly! I am writing in support of the Persian language (called locally Farsi in Iran) not in favour of the English language. Do not be stubbornly ignorant!
By aryana2008 [Affiliate User] 1200604112 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEnglish doesn't dictate the world, though it often tries to by renaming everything, and calling it the english language. There is NO english word for the name of the language that most Iranians speak. Therefore, educated people say Farsi when they refer to the language Iranians speak. If you are without knowledge, you might say, Persian, and if you are even more without knowledge, you might say, Iranians, speak Iranian, and the ignorance goes on, etc.
By khaltubibi [Affiliate User] 1200603648 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSome mistakenly believe that, in English, the official language of Iran should be called Farsi, while the language spoken in Tajikistan and Afghanistan should be called Dari, and Persian should be utilised to refer to all of them. However, the difference between the Persian spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, or Tajikistan is not significant or substantial enough to warrant such a distinction and classification.
