I think what he means, is that he "did not see" how the formulas are interlacing, before starting to learn the vedic methods. You might want to check some vedic sutras. They are quite advanced and surprisingly simple =)

I'm a technology professional and I agree this guys lacks much knowledge and explanation. He has discredited himself by stating he never understood the calculus he did at school; I know I did and so did many others. I cannot trust this knowledge. I respect the area he is trying explore, but not the way he is doing it.

I'm a maths PhD student, and this guy's a nut. The thing he said about the star of David appearing in the sand on a piece of glass is just nonsense. It's a shame that he's corrupted some nice mathematics with his spiritual view. Science and faith do not, and should not, mix.

No, the method is correct:
for the first two digets (94-6=88) (93-7=86) and *87* is exactly in between the two. Multiply 87 x 100 (the nearest power of 10).
Last two didgets (100-94)(100-93)=42
8700+42=8742

Hmm...OK. Suppose you're right. But I still don't quite understand when to apply the algorithm. I thought you could use it to multiply 2 consecutive numbers. But if we apply it to 94 x 93 then, using the dudes method, we get 94 less 3 (=91) 3x2=06 so 94x93 = 9106. That's bollocks! My trusted calculator says the answer is 8742

he's wrong because he multiplied 5x6 for the last two digets instead of 5x4. The method that he attempted to use is correct, he just messed up.

Well.. listening to his interview. I really appreciate his approch on teaching children... it definitely will lay a solid foundation to the mammoth maths he/she will grow up to learn.
