This is a Jacobs Ladder, running off a neon sign transformer at 15,000 volts 20khz. Also put some solder at the top for the arc to eat through!
what the hell are they 4
By coolncasz20mm [Affiliate User] 1202921854high voltage at low amperage wont hurt anyone...
By twisztdauthority [Affiliate User] 1202460512how do u make it??????
By d2dsmit [Affiliate User] 1202256829Try to find one from old neon sign or oil burner ignition.
By gearheads4u [Affiliate User] 1201904767This is kind of a dumb comment to make on a public site. You saying it is basically safe is retarded. You are not mentioning the type shoes, floor, carpet etc., etc. you used or transformer. Kids read this stuff daily and of course like all of us want to build these too. Suppose they read your comment and built one with a microwave transformer... or someone doesn't have the insulation you had when you touched a lead. Dumb comment.
By gearheads4u [Affiliate User] 1201904395If you cover the ladder, make sure that air can get into and out of the cover as O3 (ozone) will be created and will damage the components
By RevoDan [Affiliate User] 1200373514hi i am trying to buid one but i cant find one on ebay anymore and i was wondering of you would ever sell yours

By pitbike2006 [Affiliate User] 1199676217hi i am going to build on of them but for safety should a put a clear tube over the ladder couse im a bit scered 15000 volts thnaks and what thick ness should the ladder metal wire be in mm
By pitbike2006 [Affiliate User] 119967417515kV 20kHz 20mA integral plus it's te same nst that a have
By poelskeuh [Affiliate User] 1199290990I know now. I didn't know that at the time, the 12,000 volts was only 6,000 volts and I was getting 3,000 volts from the one leg. Even then, I was very fortunate to be standing on a very thick rubber mat. With what I know now, I realize I was putting my life in danger. I would never do something like that today.
By Andyman3k [Affiliate User] 1197418380look at youtube account for theduderinok he just post an old art bell show speaking of a possible wormhole at the top of a jacobs ladder in the sticking arc its micheal marcum interview
By medaswho [Affiliate User] 1197294117Cool video. But I've always preferred traditional 60hz core and coil neon transformers. They seem to last a lot longer than solid state. Or are straight AC NSTs hard to find in the UK?
By ct92404 [Affiliate User] 1189195593Andyman3k, I know your comment is old...but I just wanted to say that even touching one high voltage lead is extremely dangerous...you're forgetting that you still have a voltage gradient with the ground! The current can pass between your hand and feet, which might still go through your heart! You'd better be standing on something well insulated. That's like playing Russian roulette.
By ct92404 [Affiliate User] 1189195380where do you get a solid state NST from? I've never heard of those...
