    the white tube is used to keep the flow of blood going whilst the procedure is done. If you notice, just before the last stitch the white silicon tube is removed.

    The heart is a muscle. There are arteries running just under the surface supplying blood to the heart. If the flow of blood in these arteries is restricted the heart muscle losses its strength. If it's blocked the heart muscle dies. These blockages are bypassed in this procedure.

    Yeah he's right,saline is just saltwater,it's even safe to drink! (although i woud'nt reccomend) This is also inserted into IV'S and other thing,widely used in the medical field.a handy object.
