Grammy Award winning reggae singer song-writer Jimmy Cliff live at the Cardiff Festival, August 2007.

The song "Many Rivers To Cross" is a very powerful ballad, and has been covered by many Bands/Artistes including Van Morrison and UB40.

I think it's fair to say though, that having heard Jimmy's sensational verson at the Cardiff Festival, the original is nearly always the best!

  • this song never ...

this song never fails to bring tears to my eyes. it's seems it's only every once in a while that I feel I can sense the songwriter's pain through a vocal performance... even with blues songs. This song is clearly an exception.

I'll never forget the scene in High Fidelity when he Cusack names this as one of the songs that should be played at his funeral. I too will request this for my funeral. Amazing!
