  • The first time I ...

The first time I heard this song was around the time Amused to Death came out, as I am quite young (32), but never saw the video till now. I found some of the video took away from the song, but some fits well. I had a grandfather that was in that war that died. Although I never knew him (just what family has said about him), I can empathize with this song, I find it moving, I find it personal for Roger to write it, and I appreciate it.

  • Thanks for posting ...

Thanks for posting this- I've long liked all of original Floyd, from the Barrett days to this; Waters might not be an easy fellow to work/live with, but I'm glad he's kept making records! "Amused to Death" is still a favourite. I always wish I could read lips when I see this video..

  • Waters was PF in my ...

Waters was PF in my book & I'm pleased they continued after his departure; Does this actually make sense? Roger is a genius and his "Pro's & Con's..." album proves it more!

Non PF fans seem to like the wall, and they hate 'Comfortably numb' & most have not heard of 'Dark Side...' or 'Final Cut'

Your spot on, poppy fans love the wall others like (including me) like their real stuff & Roger! Some people have not even heard Dark Side of the Moon & think they like Floyd? I suspect you mention Pro's & Con's, you might easily end up on mastermind!

  • I agree this album ...

I agree this album rocked. I always thought it was more of a continuation of the Wall. It was just what he found when he thought he broke out; it was the same politics and shiite as before. At least thats the way I feel when I listen to it.

  • It's because the ...

It's because the album is really more of a solo Waters album than a floyd album. Rick was already out of the band, David was mostly out, and it was obviously the end of floyd. Many people blamed roger for the end of the band, and therefore held this album up as the thing that killed the band.

The album is brilliant, as have been all of rogers solo albums. I am glad that both sides of the Floyd have reformed, and are both doing well (although I think the PF side might be done again).
