This is a scene from THE LOVER - a love story between a French girl and a Chinese man set in 1929 Indochina. This is one of my favorite 'movie kisses,' even though they don't actually kiss. Still packs a hell of a punch.

    i watch this movie yearly..and have for years. it is my very favorite. the movie... beautiful. the book...brief and sublime...like a love affair. the words are to be taken in slowly with a glass of wine or fine bourbon. if you've never been consumed by passion, you will never understand it...and you will have never experienced the depths of feeling we are capable of. if you share it with someone special...you just might learn something about yourself.

    the best kiss in cinema...for me anyway.
