The Phantom of the Opera - Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman

EXCELLENT!

I can't believe this is the same guy that was in a movie with John Lennon. His speaking voice always annoyed the hell out of me. He was in Hello Dolly too wasn't he?

Just watch Michaels live clips ( especially the better quality ones) "SketchMasterGulstab" before judging. I just listened to both guys live clips and, just my opinion, MC was the more mysterious, vocally nicer and eerie Phantom. Both guys are talented but I just felt more intrigued and blown by Michaels Phantom. If your serious about honestly wanting to see MC then just keep an eye out for his new PBS special towards the end of the year and do yourself a favor and go see him live in concert.

MC is waaaaay better then alright and also has an awesome voice! Watch his MOTN video or some of his AWESOME live clips. Also why hate Michael "PhangirlMusician. It isn't his fault you were born when you were. Plus MC had to perform this live 8 times a week for several years straight so I think he might be more then just a tad bit better. Offstage this is a guy that has helped and reached out to so many children and adults thru various charities. Watch his PBS special in the fall. Hes amazing

Sooo... Mc... What I understand from your comments, is that Gerard is good, but Michael Crawford is better. ( Yeah I think he's better too, but just about a half better. xD... To me. I hate him because he stopped!!! I would've seen him but I wasn't born in 1986. -.- )... (Still LOVE Gerard, AND Michael though. :P)

This verson is much better then the newer verson.

Again, my view may be skewed having only seen Jason live, and I do agree, Michael brings a certain seductive smoothness to the role, Very nice voice, I agree. I really like how he ended the song there. But Jason really brought a nicer, more eerie and mysterious presence. I do wish to see MC live.

i saw it. it was amazing. the chandeleer fell in front of my face. i had first row seats!!!!!

I just listened to Jason Mills and hes okay but his Phantom just sounded very stiff and his singing wasn't very smooth. I noticed that the few people that did post on his site preferred his Raoul much more and I think he did well with that role. When I went back to listen to Michael ( and saw the effect Michael had on the female audience members )I just personally agreed with "punkstopper". Michaels voice, for me, just seems smoother, more seductive, mysterious and much easier to listen to.

Cont'd... I admit I also really missed how hypnotically and beautifully MC moved across that stage. The most successful interpretations seem to be with the guys that stick closer to Michaels blueprint. It's only an opinion though and I think all these guys are talented in general. I just think Michael literally brought the Phantom to life the best.

... =/... I just saw Phantom in my hometown of Saskatoon two nights ago and I still have to say I preferred my phantom's voice the best. His name is Jason Mills.
